WELCOME TO THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION’S
NATIONAL STUDY OF
PUBLIC SAFETY ANSWERING POINTS (PSAPs)
(9-1-1 EMERGENCY CALL FACILITIES)

Welcome to the American Heart Association’s National Study of 9-1-1 emergency call facilities, frequently known as public safety answering points (PSAPs).  We want to take this opportunity to recognize the heroic efforts that PSAP dispatchers make each and every day to aid citizens during a wide range of emergencies.  In particular, the role that PSAPs play in the Cardiac Arrest Chain of Survival within our communities has been critical to improving survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in recent years.

In order to further support that role and subsequently make further improvements in survival possible, we ask that you take a few minutes to read the following information and then complete the survey for the American Heart Association’s National Study of 9-1-1 emergency call facilities.

ABOUT THE SURVEY

Though your participation in this questionnaire is completely voluntary, it is essential to the success of this study. Your input will directly impact the results. NOTE: THE SURVEY IS RELEVANT TO ALL 9-1-1 FACILITIES, EVEN TO THOSE THAT DO NOT DISPATCH EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES.

The information you provide in this questionnaire will be used for research purposes only. Information provided by individual 9-1-1 facilities will be strictly confidential and will remain proprietary with American Heart Association. Data from an individual 9-1-1 facility (“identifiable data”) will be confidential and will not be published in a way that allows identification of the facility from which it originated.

Nationally or regionally aggregated results may be published as part of an American Heart Association Scientific Advisory Statement or other American Heart Association scientific publications.

Information provided will not be used for commercial purposes, nor will identifiable data be available to any person outside of the AHA staff, volunteers and paid consultants.

Respondents will not be solicited for donations or contacted in regard to any matter other than the conduct of this study

As you complete this survey, if you encounter questions that require you to research the answer, please do so. You may save the survey using the ‘save’ button found at the bottom of the page. When you have retrieved the information you may return and complete the remainder of the survey. Click to begin the survey.
